Listen dude,
you are making me dislike blog visiting and that is so unfair. There I am happily reading someone's blog and all prepared to comment and then I push PUBLISH and there are suddenly two words that I have to verify before I can be published.
It used to be just one word. What? Wasn't one enough enough for you?
No. Now you insist that I verify two. And they are freakin' HARD, dude.
You smush one letter over another so I can't tell. Is that a b or an l smushed up against an o? Or vice versa, except with a d. Is that two v's or one w?
I feel toyed with. I can see your smarmy face sitting there having a giggle fit as I have to keep verifying over and over again and keep getting it wrong.
I refuse to have you on my blog.
And I solved the word verification problem. Most of us use it to prevent spammers. I started moderating comments instead. Annoying, I know. But, not as annoying as word verification. I got a few spammers at first, but when they realized that I was just going to quickly delete all of them, licketty split, they faded away. Now, I get maybe one spam daily.
And anyone know why we have to verify TWO words now instead of one? God, it's hard enough for me to do one, but two? You are annoying the shit out of me.
It's only 7:10 in the morning and I'm already irritated. Not a good way to start my day, word verification.
I see you back there chortling.
Just sayin'....

I adore you for doing this.
Those word verifications are just so hard, and annoying. I could see having to do it the first time I comment on a blog... but every time? Sometimes I just can't be bothered to try to figure the words out.
And, just to be clear, I'm not a robot :-)
Those words are such a pain in the ass! And you're right, they are Hard to read. And then you start to think, "do I even want to leave a comment?"
Fun post!
m.
Here's your word verification for today: skldjrfkswfrsfksdj
Have you tried the audio alternative? Even worse (and somewhat disturbing as well).
A fucking Men.
Agreed. It wasn't a big deal when it was one word, pretty legible. Now it's two and I can't always read the letters properly.
I wanted to stop having word verification on my blog but the new "improved" blogger interface doesn't give you any way to opt in or out of it. You have to go to "old Blogger interface" and change the settings there. Which is all fucked up, Blogger, hello?
Sometimes I have to verify words (yes, plural) several times before my comment is accepted. I had to start moderating comments on my blog months ago because of at least a dozen pieces of spam, mostly for Viagra, daily. I also get regular comments in Arabic, which I can't read, and despite my automatic rejection they all continue. It's really crazy-making.
Just yesterday it took me 3 times to figure out BOTH words. I was so irritated! Thanks for not requiring it on yours. :)
I took it off mine too. The new ones are more of an eyesight than anything else.
oh I took the verification thing off too, horrid. I set mine to be registered or Open ID accounts only and this seems to have stopped the spam.
I agree! This "new and improved" word verification is driving me crazy!
